Esther has had many accomplishments while serving as a Windsor School Board member and as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Sonoma. Here are some of her many accomplishments:

Windsor School Board

  • Increased test scores for English Learners
  • Maintained strong high school graduation rates
  • Saved Windsor property owners more than $1 million over the life of voter-approved school bonds by a successful refinance of a portion of those bonds
  • Overseen efforts to construct new school facilities at Brooks Elementary School and Windsor Oaks Academy, including new classrooms and parent drop off at Brooks Elementary
  • Taken preventative steps to ensure safety of drinking water for Windsor students following reports of higher than acceptable levels of lead in drinking water in Sonoma County
  • Increased number of students reclassified from English Learner to English proficient
  • Oversight of implementation of Big Picture Learning Program (North Bay Met Academy), a program approved for at-risk students which provides individualized learning plan for long term success
  • Overseen design and plans for new restrooms and permanent bleachers at Windsor High School football stadium
  • Worked with approval and implementation of Windsor High School Summer Math credit recovery and support program

Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office

  • Prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the People of the State of California against offenders charged with Domestic Violence offenses
  • Oversee probationers’ treatment, including court-mandated 52-week domestic violence counseling program, through regular reviews in Domestic Violence Treatment Court
  • Promote safety for victims of crime, including request and advocacy for Court issuance of Criminal Protective Orders
  • Promote treatment of mentally ill offenders convicted of crime and enhance community safety through handling of cases and oversight of probationers’ treatment through Mental Health Treatment Court
  • Community Outreach as District Attorney’s “Safe Neighborhoods D.A.,” including working directly with members of law enforcement, school officials, students, non-profit organizations, and community members
